In Florida - Forums about the Opioid Epidemic

Virginia York, a veteran National Issues Forums (NIF) deliberative forum convener and moderator based in Panama City, Florida, described some recent forums using the new National Issues Forums Insitute (NIFI) issue advisory titled What Should We Do About the Opioid Epidemic? 

In Tallahassee, Florida, over 100 people, including elected officials, and law enforcement officers, attended a forum about the opioid epidemic. Another forum on the same topic was also held in Panama City, Florida.

 

A December 4, 2017 article by Kelly Grosfield, published on mypanhandle.com, describes the toll that opioid prescriptions and addiction have taken in the Florida panhandle area, and quotes NIFI convener and former member of the NIFI board of directors Scott Clemons about the issue.
