"Household income inequality in the United States is higher today than before the Great Recession...Falling incomes at the bottom helped drive inequality in cities and metro areas..." - these are just two of many findings about rising economic inequality in US cities presented in a January 14, 2016 analysis report titled City and metropolitan inequality on the rise, driven by declining incomes, from the Brookings Institution.
