After falling steadily for decades, the rate of violent crime in the United States rose again in 2015 and 2016. We hear reports of violent activities all over South Carolina. South Carolinians, and all Americans, are increasingly worried about safety in their communities.

Many are concerned that something is going on with violence in communities, law enforcement, and race that is undermining the national ideals of safety and justice for all.

What do you think can be done?
We will talk about three possible directions to work in to help resolve the problem:
1. Enforce the Law Together - Expand policing wile strengthening community-police partnerships;
2. Apply the Law Fairly - Remove injustices, reform inequities:
3. De-escalate and Prevent Violence - Reduce the culture of violence ad take direct actions to disrupt conflict.
