Safety & Justice: How Should We Make Sure Everyone Feels Safe in Our Community
This is a new issue of the National Issues Forums Institute and Kettering Foundation. Myrtle Beach has been holding forums on this issue for two years; so they are a good group to try out this draft issue book. If you live in Myrtle Beach, have ever visited Myrtle Beach, or want to visit Myrtle Beach and have the ability to attend this forum on 8 December, you are very welcome to do so. We will discuss three approaches for dealing with the concern of safety and justice.
1. Enforce the Law Together: Do we expand policing while we strengthen community-police partnerships?
2. Apply the Law fairly: Do we remove injustices, reform inequalities, and improve accountability?
3. De-escalate and Prevent Violence: Do we take actions to reduce the culture of violence and take direct actions to disrupt conflict?
What do you think? Come share your ideas on December 8th, 2016 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Marriott Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach, 8400 Costa Vede Drive, Myrtle Beach. The forum will be held in the Bar area of the Hotel
