Issue Guides

This is the first forum to be offered to the City of College Station's Senior Advisory Committee members. This group, appointed by the the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, offers ideas for programs to promote physical, social, educational, recreational, and emotional welfare of older adults in the College Station area to the City's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Parks and Recreation Department, and the City Council.

After numerous meetings over a period of five months with this Senior Advisory Committee, there was considerable interest shown for the National Issues Forums. As the NIF moderator I suggested to first offer a forum to the committee members, and they agreed to participate in a forum on Health Care to experience the public deliberation process.

The College Station Parks and Recreation Department is a nationally accredited agency which strives to provide facilities and programs that enrich the lives of people of all ages with diverse, ethnicity, ability, belief, social and economic background and education. It was started in 1971.
