The Future of Work

Philosphy in the Public Interest presents National Issues Forums. Please join us for a community dialogue where you will be invited to share your thoughts on topics such as climate change and the future of work as well as hear about the ideas of others and engage with them. National Issues Forums (NIF) is a nonpartisan, nationwide network of locally sponsored public forums for the consideration of public policy issues. It is rooted in the simple notion that people need to come together to reason and talk--to deliberate about common problems. These forums offer citizens the opportunity to join together to deliberate, to make choices with others about ways to approach difficult issues and to work toward creating reasoned public judgment.

Community members are invited to come together to voice their views about these critical global and economic issues. Informational handouts about each of these issues will be available on the Philosophy in the Public Interest website one week prior to the forum at www.nau.edu/ppi.

The Future of Work: The nature of the work we do has changed in ways that few Americans a generation ago could have imagined, and it will undoubtedly be dramatically different in yet another generation. These changes will bring both opportunities and difficulties...The stakes are high. Many Americans share concerns about the nation's competitive edge, stagnant wages, and a sense that young people today will be worse off than previous generations. Made possible with support from Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Yavapai College, Sedona Center, Philosophy in the Public Interest, and The Kettering Foundation in partnership with National Issues Forums.
