Climate Choices

Philosphy in the Public Interest presents National Issues Forums. Please join us for a community dialogue where you will be invited to share your thoughts on topics such as climate change and the future of work as well as hear about the ideas of others and engage with them. National Issues Forums (NIF) is a nonpartisan, nationwide network of locally sponsored public forums for the consideration of public policy issues. It is rooted in the simple notion that people need to come together to reason and talk--to deliberate about common problems. These forums offer citizens the opportunity to join together to deliberate, to make choices with others about ways to approach difficult issues and to work toward creating reasoned public judgment.

Community members are invited to come together to voice their views about these critical global and economic issues. Informational handouts about each of these issues will be available on the Philosophy in the Public Interest website one week prior to the forum at www.nau.edu/ppi.

Climate Choices: Climate disruptions have some people worried about their health, their children, their homes, their livelihoods, their communities, and even their personal safety. They wonder about the future of the natural areas they enjoy and the wild animals and plants that live there. In addition, there are growing concerns about our national security and how climate change might affect scarce resources around the planet and increase global tensions. Made possible with support from Flagstaff Downtown Library, Philosophy in the Public Interest, The Kettering Foundation in partnership with National Issues Forums.
