LINCOLN RECREATION CENTER EVENT, Tuesday, September 13, 2016
10:00 – 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch

As one of the many facilities offering programs through the City of College Station’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Lincoln Recreation Center offers a wide variety of amenities and services aimed at improving the quality of life of College Station residents.
Originally constructed as the A&M Consolidated Negro School, the Lincoln Center is located at 1000 Eleanor in W.A. Tarrow Park. The facility has been used at one time or another as a neighborhood center, recreation center, senior citizen's center, maintenance shop, and was formerly the headquarters for the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. The center now provides a variety of recreational and social services to the citizens of College Station, as well as an indoor gymnasium, 1/3 mile lighted jogging trail, and playground. The Wayne Smith Baseball Fields are included in this park. A State Historic Site Marker is also located here for African American Education in College Station.
