NIFI is very proud to be partnering with Kettering Foundation to highlight the work of the NIF network next week. As of today, there have been more than 150 Safety and Justice forums held around the country—a hugely impressive achievement, and all due to you, the NIF network! We want your work recognized for the immense value it creates for communities and democracy as a whole, which is why we’re taking it to Capitol Hill next Tuesday. NIFI and Kettering Foundation have planned our annual “A Public Voice” event as a working meeting with Congressional staffers to discuss the Safety & Justice forums so far and to build enthusiasm for future forums with Congressional staffers and other federal officials. We have more than a dozen Congressional staffers and other policymakers confirmed to attend, so we’re looking forward to a great event— but we need your help!
We’ll be broadcasting the event May 9 from 1:30 - 3 pm ET via Facebook Live— but we don’t just want you to watch. We want you to help us tell the story of how people across the country are really talking about safety and justice. During the livestream, we’ll be posting questions about your forums and feeding your comments back into the event itself— your comments have their own special section of the event devoted just to them!
You’re doing the work— help us show DC its value. Your participation via Facebook Live is crucial to the event’s success, and we know you’ll respond just as powerfully as you have already.
Join the Facebook event to get more information about how the livestream works and click here to set up a notification when we go live!! Please also invite or tag other Facebook friends who may be interested too!
You don’t need a Facebook account to watch the livestream—you can also watch the livestream just by going to NIFI’s Facebook page at 1:30 pm ET on Tuesday, but you do need an account in order to make comments.
Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you online next week!
